Tall Ships Video

Wind in the Rigging
Tall Ships Tacoma Festival

The storied days of the tall sailing ships that once crowded the warfs and sea lanes of the North Pacific and her inland sea, Puget Sound returned for seven days in July for Tall Ships Tacoma 2008.

Trace their journey down Puget Sound to Tacoma. In Quartermaster Harbor’s morning mist, native canoers welcome the ships and present gifts. As the ships arrive in the Parade of Sail ,you’ll marvel at the varying size, shape and sail configuration of each ship.

After the Parade of Sail, come aboard to learn the story of select ships. Meet the crews, as they hoist the sails, cruise the sound and fire the cannons in the Battle of Commencement Bay. This engaging and charming video is a great momento and worthy tribute to the dozens of ships, hundreds of shipmates, thousands of volunteers and nearly 400,000 visitors that were Tall Ships Tacoma 2008.
